Aerosmith的第3張唱片，是Aerosmith最有重金屬氣質的一張專輯,滾石評出的最偉大500張專輯之一.1975的《Toys in the Attic》是樂隊在商業和藝術上均形成突破的專輯。樂隊也就是那時形成了自己的藝術特色：以布魯斯為基礎的簡潔吉他Riff為內在驅動的硬搖滾之聲。有趣的是，當時的許多評論家將樂隊看作是一群朋克，也許是因為那時的Led Zeppelin的世界音樂和Black Sabbath深奧但冗長的神秘主義都脫離了重金屬原始的核心吧。Steven Tyler的歌詞充滿了機智的幽默感，而且整個樂隊也都有一種來自于平凡生活但卻超凡的號召力，這使他們區別于同時代的一批滯重遲緩的成人硬搖滾樂隊。《Toys in the Attic》抓住了樂隊本質的魅力，單曲'Sweet Emotion'在1975年夏進入了Top 40，隨后專輯也名列專輯榜第11名。成功促使他們再次發行了單曲'Dream On'，1976春，這首震撼人心的名曲打入了單曲榜的前十位，這把以前的專輯《Aerosmith》和《Get Your Wings》也一起帶入了排行榜。1976年，來自《Toys in the Attic》中最后的單曲'Walk This Way'在新專輯《Rocks》發行前發行，這使得并無Top10單曲的《Rocks》在1977初也成了一張白金唱片。1977年的《Draw the Line》也是一張成功的唱片，但已經顯現出創造枯竭的跡象。1978年，樂隊出現在電影《佩帕軍士孤獨之心俱樂部樂隊》中，翻唱了甲殼蟲的'Come Together'，并拿下單曲榜的第23名。《Live! Bootleg》發行于1978年，列榜上第13。1979年的《Night in the Ruts》發行后，Joe Perry離開樂隊成立了Joe Perry Project。《Night in the Ruts》表現得不錯，名列第14并成為了一張金唱片。之后Brad Whitford也于1980年離開了樂隊與Ted Nugent以前的吉他手Derek St. Holmes成立了Whitsford-St. Holmes Band。
